Chip Resistors

Thick Film chip resistors and hybrid resistor networks made in the UK and Europe are still in high demand, particularly for high reliability applications. Overall concern within the industry for electronic components' quality and traceability, alongside with existing counterfeit risks, are main drivers for investments in capital equipment. In the past years we commissioned a number of projects for thick film resistors production. Tailored solutions ranged from lab-scale kits to fully automated production lines.

Some of our clients received kits for making a high mix, low batch products of extreme precision. Side by side, hybrid resistors from 1 GOhm down to 10 kOhm can be manufactured. Solutions may include various ways of substrate handling (laser or diamond scribing, stamping or mechanical separation), termination (thin film sputtering or paste deposition by rollers) and plating (either barrel or fountain type). Various measurement systems including high Ohm, and combinations of probe-cards as well as flying probes are available to be incorporated into the laser trimmers we offer. Any chip-resistor project is seen as an entire process set up. Alongside with the main equipment we normally offer auxiliary kit (screen making lab, hand tools and jigs) and recommend a list of consumables. We take a great care of all necessary tests and application tooling with manufacturers of the machines and supply a starter kit for commissioning and training.
